Schipperke Heads Ears and Eyes

Expression - A schipperke has a expression that is questioning, mischievous, alert but is never mean or wild.

Head - The head should be well proportioned with medium width that narrows toward the muzzle. The skull should be slightly rounded if the ears are laying back against the head. There is a moderate fill under the eyes that forms a wedge that tapers smoothly from the back of the skull to the tip of the nose. The stop is not prominent but is definite.

Muzzle - The muzzle is slightly less than the length of the skull.

Eyes - The eyes should be small, oval, and dark brown and are placed forward on the head. The eyes should not be prominent or bulging.

Ears - The ears are small, triangular and placed high on the head. They are very erect and some almost touch when the dog is at attention. If they are correct this is the ideal ear set. The ears should not be belled or tilt forward like a Akita when viewed from the side. A drop ear or ears is a disqualification.

Nose - The nose is small and black
